Basis of preparing the financial statements
Turnover
Turnover represents income from service charges for the year payable by the lessees of St. James Park.
Tangible fixed assets
| Freehold property | - |
Financial instruments
The company only has financial assets and financial liabilities of a kind that qualify as basic financial instruments. Basic financial instruments are initially recognised at transaction price and subsequently measured at amortised cost, unless the arrangement constitutes a financing transaction. Financial assets comprise service charge debtors and cash at bank; financial liabilities comprise other creditors and accruals. Debtors are stated net of any provision for impairment where there is objective evidence that amounts due will not be recovered.
Pension costs and other post-retirement benefits
The company operates a defined contribution pension scheme. Contributions payable to the company's pension scheme are charged to profit or loss in the period to which they relate.
Service charges and deferred income
Turnover represents service charges receivable from the lessees of St James Park in respect of the period. Service charges are recognised in the period to which the related expenditure and management of the development relate. Amounts received from lessees relating to future periods are deferred and included within creditors as service charges received in advance, and are released to income in the period to which they relate.
Going concern
The company meet its obligations from service charges levied on the lessees of St James Park under the terms of the leases. The directors have assessed the company's ability to continue as a going concern for a period of at least twelve months from the date of approval of these financial statements and, having regard to the company's ability to levy service charges to meet its liabilities as they fall due, they have a reasonable expectation that the company has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Accordingly, the financial statements have been prepared on the going concern basis.
