Notes to the Financial Statements
1. General Information
Ramon.Space UK Ltd is a private company, limited by shares, incorporated in England & Wales, registered number 14647869 . The registered office is 20 Alan Turing Road, Surrey Research Park, Guildford, England, GU2 7YF.
2. Accounting Policies
2.1. Basis of Preparation of Financial Statements
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with Financial
Reporting Standard 102, Section 1A, The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland,
and the provisions of the Companies Act 2006 applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.
The financial statements are presented in sterling, which is the company’s functional and presentation currency, and
amounts are rounded to the nearest £.
2.2. Turnover
Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, net of discounts and value added taxes. Turnover includes revenue earned from the sale of goods and from the rendering of services. Turnover is reduced for estimated customer returns, rebates and other similar allowances.
Sale of goods
Turnover from the sale of goods is recognised when the significant risks and rewards of ownership of the goods have transferred to the buyer. This is usually at the point that the customer has signed for the delivery of the goods.
Rendering of services
Turnover from the rendering of services is recognised by reference to the stage of completion of the contract. The stage of completion of a contract is measured by comparing the costs incurred for work performed to date to the total estimated contract costs. Turnover is only recognised to the extent of recoverable expenses when the outcome of a contract cannot be estimated reliably.
2.3. Tangible Fixed Assets and Depreciation
The depreciation rates for plant and machinery and fixtures and fittings were reviewed during the year and amended to better reflect their estimated useful economic lives. The revised rates of 33.33% and 7% respectively have been applied prospectively as a change in accounting estimate
Tangible fixed assets are measured at cost less accumulated depreciation and any accumulated impairment losses. Depreciation is provided at rates calculated to write off the cost of the fixed assets, less their estimated residual value, over their expected useful lives on the following bases:
Leasehold 10% Straight line
Plant & Machinery 33.33% Straight line
Fixtures & Fittings 7% Straight line
2.4. Stocks and Work in Progress
Stocks and work in progress are valued at the lower of cost and net realisable value after making due allowance for obsolete and slow-moving stocks. Cost includes all direct costs and an appropriate proportion of fixed and variable overheads. Work-in-progress is reflected in the accounts on a contract by contract basis by recording turnover and related costs as contract activity progresses.
2.5. Foreign Currencies
Monetary assets and liabilities in foreign currencies are translated into sterling at the rates of exchange ruling at the balance sheet date. Transactions in foreign currencies are translated into sterling at the rate ruling on the date of the transaction. Exchange differences are taken into account in arriving at the operating profit.
2.6. Taxation
Current tax represents the amount expected to be paid or recovered in respect of taxable profits for the financial
year and is calculated using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantially enacted at the Balance
Sheet date.

Page 4
2.7. Pensions
The company operates a defined pension contribution scheme. Contributions are charged to the profit and loss account as they become payable in accordance with the rules of the scheme.
2.8. Share-based payments
The Company's employees participate in a share option scheme operated by Ramon Space Ltd, the ultimate parent undertaking. Awards granted under this scheme are equity-settled. The fair value of the awards at grant date is recognised over the vesting period as an employee benefit expense, with a corresponding increase in equity representing a capital contribution from the parent undertaking.
Fair value is measured using the Black-Scholes Pricing Model. The expected life used in the model has been adjusted, based on management's best estimate, for the effects of non-transferability, exercise restrictions and behavioural considerations.
Where the terms of an equity-settled transaction are modified, as a minimum an expense is recognised as if the terms had not been modified. In addition, an expense is recognised for any increase in the value of the transaction as a result of the modification, as measured at the date of modification.
Where an equity-settled transaction is cancelled, it is treated as if it had vested on the date of the cancellation, and any expense not yet recognised for the transaction is recognised immediately. However, if a new transaction is substituted for the cancelled transaction, and designated as a replacement transaction on the date that it is granted, the cancelled and new transactions are treated as if they were a modification of the original transaction, as described in the previous paragraph.
2.9. Change in accounting policy
During the year management changed the technique used to estimate accruals for goods and services received but not invoiced at the balance sheet date. Previously, open purchase orders were used as a basis for estimating these amounts. Accruals are now recognised only where there is sufficient evidence that the goods or services had been received by the balance sheet date and a liability incurred, supported by invoices received after the year end or equivalent evidence of delivery. The change has been accounted for prospectively as a change in accounting estimate and comparative amounts have not been restated.
