2Accounting Policies

Basis of measurement and preparation of accounts
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with FRS 105, The Financial Reporting Standard applicable to the Micro-entities Regime, on a basis other than going concern. The company ceased trading on 13 November 2025 following the landlord's forfeiture of the leased premises and has no current intention or realistic prospect of resuming trade. Assets are stated at the lower of their carrying amount and estimated recoverable amount, and liabilities at the amounts expected to be settled. The landlord retained possession of the company's assets at the premises and the £12,000 rent deposit. The company disputes the landlord's entitlement to those assets and the deposit, and their recovery remains subject to legal proceedings.

Turnover policy
Turnover represents amounts receivable for goods and services supplied during the period, excluding value added tax and after deducting discounts and refunds. Revenue is recognised when the goods or services have been supplied to the customer.

Tangible assets depreciation policy
Depreciation is provided on tangible fixed assets at rates calculated to write off their cost, less any estimated residual value, over their expected useful economic lives. Leasehold improvements are depreciated at 10% per annum on a straight-line basis. Fixtures and fittings are depreciated at 20% per annum on a straight-line basis.

3Off balance sheet arrangements
At the reporting date the company occupied its trading premises under a ten-year commercial lease completed on 19 November 2024, with a tenant break date of 19 November 2027. Future rent and service charge payments under the lease were not recognised as liabilities on the balance sheet. After the reporting date, the landlord forfeited the lease on 13 November 2025 and the company ceased trading. The landlord has asserted claims arising under the lease, which the company disputes. The final financial effect cannot currently be reliably quantified because the dispute remains unresolved.
