Trotters Lounge CIC is a community leg-support club established to provide practical support, information, social contact and activities for people who may experience difficulties with leg and foot health, mobility or maintaining an active and independent lifestyle. During the reporting period, the CIC developed and provided a range of activities and support for people in the Cardigan area. These included leg health checks, advice and support concerning leg and foot hygiene, skincare, cleaning and moisturising, compression garments and general leg health. The CIC also provided advice, information and signposting where individuals required further support or services. Alongside the health-related support, The Trotters Lounge provided opportunities for social interaction and wellbeing through informal conversations, refreshments, arts and crafts and gentle seated exercise. These activities were intended not only to support physical wellbeing and mobility but also to reduce social isolation and provide an opportunity for people to meet others in a welcoming and supportive environment. The CIC's activities are particularly relevant to people experiencing conditions or circumstances including dry or vulnerable skin, varicose veins, lymphoedema, swollen legs, venous insufficiency, difficulties with compression garments, diabetes and other chronic conditions, as well as people experiencing mobility or manual-dexterity difficulties. The service is also intended to benefit people who simply wish to maintain their leg health, remain active and independent, and maintain social connections. During its first year the CIC has continued to develop its community offer and its plans for the future. The activities of Trotters Lounge CIC are therefore directed towards providing practical health and wellbeing support, encouraging independence and activity, and creating opportunities for social connection for people in the local community.
The Trotters Lounge CIC has engaged with its stakeholders through a range of direct and ongoing activities. The CIC has held open days to introduce its activities to the local community, encourage participation and obtain feedback from potential and existing service users. The CIC also maintains regular engagement with representatives from Hywel Dda University Health Board and CAVO (Ceredigion Association of Voluntary Organisations), enabling the CIC to receive feedback and maintain an understanding of relevant local health, wellbeing and community needs. An oversight group has also been established to provide an additional means of engagement, discussion and feedback concerning the development of the CIC and its activities. Two of the CIC's directors are also relatives of people who use or may benefit from the service. This provides the board with direct personal insight into the experiences and needs of service users and their families, which is taken into account in the development of the CIC's activities. These different forms of engagement have helped inform the development of Trotters Lounge CIC and its approach to providing practical health, wellbeing, social and community support.
No remuneration was paid to any director in respect of their role as a director of Trotters Lounge CIC during the reporting period. Certain directors also provided services to the CIC under separate contractor arrangements and were remunerated for those services. These payments were made in respect of the contracted services provided and were not remuneration for acting as directors of the CIC. The total amount paid to directors for these contracted services during the reporting period was £8,141.00.
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
