NOTES TO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2025
1. General information
The company is a private company limited by shares, registered in England and Wales. The address of the registered office is Unit 2 Lincoln Park Business Centre, Lincoln Road, High Wycombe.
2. Statement of compliance
These financial statements have been prepared in compliance with Section 1A of FRS 102, 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and the Republic of Ireland'.
3. Accounting policies
Basis of preparation
The financial statements have been prepared on the historical cost basis, as modified by the revaluation of certain financial assets and liabilities and investment properties measured at fair value through profit or loss.
The financial statements are prepared in sterling, which is the functional currency of the entity.
Going concern
There is no material uncertainty about the company's ability to continue.
Revenue recognition
The turnover shown in the profit and loss account represents amounts receivable for the installation of stairlifts and hoists during the year, exclusive of Value Added Tax.
Taxation
Tax on income represents the sum of tax currently payable and deferred tax. The tax currently payable is based on taxable profit for the year. Taxable profit differs from profit as reported in the note to the accounts because of items of that are taxable or deductible in other years and items that are never taxable or deductible. The Company's liability for current tax is calculated using the tax rates that have been enacted or subsequently enacted by the end of the accounting period. Deferred tax arises as a result of including items of income and expenditure in taxation computations in periods different from those in which they are included in the company accounts. Deferred tax is provided in full on timing differences which result in an obligation to pay more (or less) tax at a future date, at the average tax rates that are expected to apply when timing differences reverse, based on current tax rates and laws. Current and deferred tax for the year is recognised in profit and loss.
Operating leases
Operating lease payments are recognised as an expense over the lease term on a straight-line basis. The aggregate benefit of lease incentives is recognised as a reduction to expense over the lease term, on a straight-line basis.
Tangible assets
Tangible assets are initially recorded at cost, and subsequently stated at cost less any accumulated depreciation and impairment losses. Any tangible assets carried at revalued amounts are recorded at the fair value at the date of revaluation less any subsequent accumulated depreciation and subsequent accumulated impairment losses.
Depreciation
Depreciation is calculated so as to write off the cost or valuation of an asset, less its residual value, over the useful economic life of that asset as follows:
Leasehold property
-
20% straight line
Plant and machinery
-
25% reducing balance
Motor vehicles
-
25% reducing balance
Office equipment
-
25% reducing balance
Impairment of fixed assets
A review for indicators of impairment is carried out at each reporting date, with the recoverable amount being estimated where such indicators exist. Where the carrying value exceeds the recoverable amount, the asset is impaired accordingly. Prior impairments are also reviewed for possible reversal at each reporting date.
Trade and other debtors
Trade and other debtors are stated at cost less impairment losses for bad and doubtful debts.
Stocks
Stocks are measured at the lower of cost and estimated selling price less costs to complete and sell. Cost includes all costs of purchase, costs of conversion and other costs incurred in bringing the stock to its present location and condition. When stocks are sold, the carrying amount of those stocks is recognised as an expense in the period in which the related revenue is recognised. The amount of any write-down of stocks to net realisable value and all losses of stocks are recognised as an expense in the period in which the write-down or loss occurs. The amount of any reversal of any write-down of stocks is recognised as a reduction in the amount of stocks recognised as an expense in the period in which the reversal occurs.
Cash and cash equivalents
Cash and cash equivalents comprise cash at bank and on hand, demand deposits with banks and other short-term highly liquid investments with original maturities of three months or less and bank overdrafts. In the statement of financial position, bank overdrafts are shown within borrowings or current liabilities.
Finance leases and hire purchase contracts
Assets held under finance leases and hire purchase contracts are recognised in the statement of financial position as assets and liabilities at the lower of the fair value of the assets and the present value of the minimum lease payments, which is determined at the inception of the lease term. Any initial direct costs of the lease are added to the amount recognised as an asset. Lease payments are apportioned between the finance charges and reduction of the outstanding lease liability using the effective interest method. Finance charges are allocated to each period so as to produce a constant rate of interest on the remaining balance of the liability.
Trade and other creditors
Trade and other creditors are initially recognised at fair value and thereafter stated at amortised cost using the effective interest method unless the effect of discounting would be immaterial, in which case they are stated at cost.
Defined contribution plans
The company operates a defined contribution pension scheme for Directors and employees. The assets of the scheme are held separately from those of the company. The annual contributions payable are charged to the profit and loss account.

For the purposes of these financial statements, a party is considered to be related to the Company if:
(i) the party has the ability, directly or indirectly, through one or more intermediaries, to control the Company or exercise significant influence over the Company in making financial and operating policy decisions, or has joint control over the Company;
