Company information
Ampla Loans Limited (the “Company”) was incorporated on 7 February 2019. The legal form of the Company is a private company limited by shares and incorporated in the United Kingdom. The Company's registered office address is shown on page 1 of this report.
1.1
Basis of preparation

These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with FRS 102 “The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland” (“FRS 102”) and the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 as applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.

The financial statements are prepared in sterling, which is the functional currency of the company. Monetary amounts in these financial statements are rounded to the nearest £.

The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention. The principal accounting policies adopted are set out below.

1.2
Going concern
The directors have carried out a robust assessment of the business's emerging and principal risks, and have concluded that they have a reasonable expectation that the Company will continue in operation and meet its liabilities as they fall due for the foreseeable future. The directors therefore believe it is appropriate to prepare these financial statements on a Going Concern basis.
1.3
Turnover
Turnover comprises interest charged on loans receivable, and income from customer fees. Interest income is calculated using the effective interest rate, which discounts estimated future cash flows to the carrying amount of the financial asset. Income from customer fees is recognised over the expected life of each loan.
1.4
Cash and cash equivalents

Cash and cash equivalents are basic financial assets and include cash in hand, deposits held at call with banks, other short-term liquid investments with original maturities of three months or less, and bank overdrafts. Bank overdrafts are shown within borrowings in current liabilities.

1.5
Financial assets & Liabilities
The Company's financial assets include loans receivable. These are recognised on the balance sheet at amortised cost, being the net of:
-  the initial sum of the loan receivable at face value;
-  plus accrued interest using the effective interest rate method;
-  less any repayments; and
-  less any allowance for impairment.

The Company's financial liabilities include amounts payable to Ampla Finance Holdings Limited and Ampla Operations Limited. These are recognised on the balance sheet at amortised cost, being the net of:
-  the initial sum of the liability recognised;
-  plus any accrued interest using the effective interest rate method; and
-  less any repayments.
Financial assets and financial liabilities that have no stated interest rate and are classified as payable or receivable within one year are initially measured at an undiscounted amount, therefore the effective interest rate method is not applied.
1.6
Impairment
The carrying values of any financial assets are reviewed for impairment when events or changes in circumstances indicate that the carrying value may not be recoverable.
2
Judgements and key sources of estimation uncertainty

In preparing these financial statements, the directors have made the following judgements:

The directors have completed an impairment review of the Trade Debtors loans receivable and have raised a provision where any events or changes in circumstances indicate that the carrying value may not be recoverable.

Where the term of Trade Debtor loans receivable is uncertain, these amounts have been classified on the Balance Sheet and reported as Amounts Falling Due Within 1 Year.
