We continue to distribute surplus food to people who want to use it. After recruiting a fundraiser (Jess Wright), we formed a coalition of four local groups (called Bridges To Wellbeing), and a successful bid to the National Lottery is paying for each organisation to have its own full-time co-ordinator. Jess also led our move into our own premises at 2 West St Crewkerne TA18 8AX. Since we opened in January we have seen steady growth in user numbers, donations and earnings through trading. We are aiming to make the Open Doors hub self-sustaining through its activities. We give away more than a tonne of food a month, run a successful Repair Cafe, a Chat Cafe and workshops with a sustainability theme.
The stakeholders are our local community, our volunteers and local organisations that support us. We continue to hold monthly meetings that are open to all our supporters. Our directors, who are all from the local community, hold separate quarterly meetings. Our co-ordinators record user numbers and regularly discuss our activities with them.
