Balance sheet statements

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost less depreciation. Depreciation is calculated to write off the cost of assets over their estimated useful lives using the reducing balance over container is depreciated over the course of 120 months (10 years) and the trailer is depreciated over the course of 60 months (5 year)

Company activities and impact

East Grinstead Community Bonfire completed its second free to the community event since being formed in 2022. In the year 202/26 we have gained the reputation of being group of people who not only put on a spectacular free event for anyone from the community on the third Saturday in October, we also help out at other community events. Town Council. During our event in October we collected money from the spectators during the evening. £2,000 raised on the evening was split between two of our chosen charities of the year. In 2025 we chose Menshare Listening Group a valuable service who provide support for local men experiencing a challenging or difficult time in their lives. Our second charity was Tadpoles Swimming group who are friendly swimming club who help with rehabilitation, their statement is "our aim is to provide recreational swimming facilities, in a safe environment, for people of all ages with disabilities who could benefit from swimming and water therapy." the remaining balance is used to put on further free events in the future.

Consultation with stakeholders

Regular meeting are held with with our committee and our members. We are in regular contact with East Grinstead Town Council, Mid Sussex District Council, Mid Sussex safety advisory group (SAG) and other interested parties. We post regular social media updates advising the public on the activities of EGCBonfire.
