COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

SLIDING DOORS THEATRE CIC

Company Number: 16137729 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 December 2025

Company activities and impact

During the financial year, the company delivered its community benefit through the production of The Space Between the Sheets, a new two-person theatre production by Kelsey Ann Moebius. The production explored themes including relationships, intimacy, identity, belonging and cross-cultural experiences, encouraging audiences to consider different perspectives and fostering empathy, understanding and connection. The production was presented to audiences in both Salford and North London, allowing us to engage with communities in two different areas of the UK. The production was positively received by audiences and reviewers, with audiences responding to the themes and story and reporting that they found the experience thought-provoking, moving and inspiring. The company also delivered its objective of supporting emerging and underrepresented creative talent. The production provided paid professional opportunities and experience for an emerging creative team, including a director originally from Poland, an actor from Texas, USA, and a London-based actor of Caribbean heritage. This enabled artists from different backgrounds to develop their professional experience, showcase their work and contribute their own perspectives to a new theatrical production. Through producing and presenting new work, the company therefore provided both a cultural benefit to audiences and professional development opportunities for emerging artists. The production also contributed to a more diverse and inclusive theatre landscape by platforming new voices and stories and creating opportunities for artists from a range of backgrounds.
