During the financial year, Mind Over Matter Movement CIC supported the mental wellbeing of our community by encouraging movement, meaningful connection and time spent outdoors. We organised a free, inclusive group walk every month, with approximately 30–40 people attending each event. These walks provided regular opportunities for people to exercise, form friendships and talk openly in a welcoming, non-judgemental environment. They helped reduce social isolation and supported people experiencing loneliness, poor mental health or challenging periods in their lives. We also provided opportunities for members to participate in organised trips abroad, involving outdoor activities and personal challenges. These experiences encouraged participants to step outside their comfort zones, build confidence and resilience, connect with others and improve their physical and mental wellbeing. Through our online platforms and community group, we shared accessible mental-health messages, challenged stigma and reminded people that they were not alone. Income generated through the sale of Mind Over Matter clothing and merchandise was used to support the CIC’s community activities and wider mental-health aims. Collectively, our activities created approximately 360–480 attendances across our monthly walks during the year and helped make movement, outdoor connection and peer support more accessible within our community.
