SettleX CIC Community Benefit & Social Impact Report Rebuilding lives through entrepreneurship and the future of work Reporting period: 2025–2026 Community benefit delivered During the 2025–2026 reporting period, SettleX supported refugees and displaced people through practical training, mentoring and access to opportunities in the digital economy. The programme provided the following benefits to the community: 10 refugees and displaced people received access to practical training in digital skills, AI and entrepreneurship. 8 women and mothers were given priority access to free training designed to fit around family responsibilities, flexible schedules and remote work. 8 participants developed practical skills in areas including AI, no-code technology, online business, digital tools and financial literacy. 8 participants moved from training into practical application, developing products, services, business ideas, freelance offers or other work opportunities. 8 people received support to improve their access to employment, self-employment or other ways of generating an income. 8 participants received mentoring, coaching or one-to-one support to help them put their new skills into practice and work towards earning an income. 20 businesses, employers and organisations were connected with emerging digital talent, helping create opportunities for displaced professionals to participate in the wider labour market. 8 products or projects were developed using AI and no-code tools. This gave participants the opportunity to demonstrate what they could do in practice, rather than relying only on formal qualifications or previous employment history. Through these activities, SettleX helped participants build confidence, develop relevant skills and take practical steps towards employment, self-employment and greater financial independence. The programme also created connections between displaced people and businesses, helping participants become more visible to potential employers, clients and partners. The focus of the work remains on creating practical opportunities rather than training for its own sake: helping people develop skills they can use to build a livelihood, start something of their own or return to the workforce.
