We Are Mothership CIC continues to build the project’s infrastructure and reach. We established a partnership with Unchecked UK, a research and investigation organisation that brings together networks across the UK to support properly enforced protections. Together we set about testing and learning programs to develop our understanding of how to listen to, educate and build the agency of mothers in the UK. Part of this was briefing and appointing a digital strategy agency and re-establishing our public-facing channel for this new direction of work. We hired a fresh team, plus built a strategy to define the organisation's vision, mission, culture and values, and began drafting a founding manifesto. We designed (and later, delivered) pilot projects for 2 UK communities focussed on listening to the needs of local mums and reflecting these back to the mums and local decision makers. Our new team included community organisers and marketing roles to support the ground-level work in target communities, and laid groundwork for our Kitchen Table Conversations methodology. We also developed our fundraising strategy across grassroots, institutional funders and high-net-worth donor routes, then hosted our first fundraising dinner for mothers. Benefits to the community included listening and early community-building for mothers, and the groundwork for a listening-led platform designed to connect mothers' voices to decision-makers.
We Are Mothership's stakeholders are the mothers and carers the company exists to platform and empower, its founders and strategic partners, creative and agency collaborators (Unchecked UK and NEF) and funders who resource its activities. We spent several months doing preparatory listening to local mums in 2 UK communities and using the insights to develop our pilot programmes for 2026. During the year the company consulted stakeholders through a founder and team away day to shape vision, mission and values; through early community-building on @heymothership; and through ongoing dialogue with strategic partners and the 411 agency in developing brand and digital strategy. Along with the local listening work, this input directly shaped the way we delivered our Kitchen Table Conversations methodology as well as the phased organising roadmap across every touchpoint.
This information is clearly identified in the accounts. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
