During the financial year, Fenlandia CIC remained dormant for accounting purposes and entered into no significant financial transactions. However, its directors undertook unpaid preparatory work to develop future cultural, heritage and community programmes. This included developing the This is Peterborough! concept: an inclusive cultural initiative designed to celebrate Peterborough’s identity, connect communities with local heritage and create opportunities for participation in arts, music and storytelling. Research and programme development explored the cultural and environmental heritage of Peterborough and the wider Fenland area, including local history, landscape, music and traditions. Fenlandia CIC also developed the Picture This: Peterborough photography competition for children and young people aged 5–16. Launched in September 2025, the initiative was designed to encourage pupils to explore their surroundings, recognise what makes Peterborough distinctive and express civic pride through photography. The project was developed with support from local civic, heritage and community partners. Preparatory discussions were also held with artists, schools, heritage organisations and community representatives. This work helped shape accessible participation arrangements, safeguarding principles and future programming that responds to local interests. Although these activities generated no income or expenditure during the financial year, they created a foundation for future community benefit by strengthening partnerships, developing viable cultural projects and preparing Fenlandia CIC to begin active delivery.
