During the financial year, BOLD – Bringing Out Leaders in Dementia CIC delivered activities to support people living with early-stage dementia, as well as those working with, caring for, or living alongside them. The CIC provided CPD-accredited six-week online Self-development Social Leadership Training programmes designed to build confidence, leadership skills, knowledge and peer support within the dementia community. Individuals completed the training and became part of the growing “BOLD Partners” network, helping to share supportive, person-centred approaches and improve understanding of dementia across their communities. The company also developed a monthly online communication platform to encourage ongoing connection, peer support and the sharing of knowledge and resources. These activities helped reduce isolation, improve wellbeing and self-confidence, and empower people living with dementia to continue making positive contributions within their communities. The CIC’s work supports its vision of a Scotland where a dementia diagnosis is met with understanding, support and opportunity.
The company’s stakeholders include the organisations we work with and participants in our online programmes, workshops and resources, including people living with dementia, unpaid carers and dementia practitioners, as well as the wider community in Scotland. We maintain regular communication with our stakeholders and gather feedback through meetings, emails, surveys and social media. Feedback from stakeholders informs the development and delivery of the opportunities, programmes and resources we provide, helping us to respond to the needs and interests of the communities we support.
