2. Accounting Policies
2.1. Early Adoption of Amendments to FRS 102 (Periodic Review 2024)
The amendments to FRS 102 arising from the FRC's Periodic Review 2024 are mandatorily effective for accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2026. Core Properties Teesside Limited has chosen to adopt these amendments early, with a date of initial application of 01/01/2025, to align with the accounting policies applied in the consolidated financial statements of the parent / in advance of the mandatory date so as to achieve consistency across the group / other reason.
The amendments with a material effect on these financial statements relate to Section 20 Leases and Section 23 Revenue from Contracts with Customers. The remaining amendments — including those to Section 2 concepts, Section 19 business combinations, Section 26 share-based payment, Section 29 income tax and the Section 1A disclosure requirements — have been applied but have not had a material effect on the amounts recognised.
Further details of the transition and the effect on the financial statements are provided in the notes.
2.2. Basis of Preparation of Financial Statements
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard 102 section 1A Small Entities "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" and the Companies Act 2006.
2.3. Going Concern Disclosure
The directors have not identified any material uncertainties related to events or conditions that may cast significant doubt about the company's ability to continue as a going concern.
In assessing whether the going concern assumption is appropriate, the directors have considered all available information about the future, which is at least, but is not limited to, 12 months from the date when the financial statements are authorised for issue.
2.4. Turnover
Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, net of discounts and value added taxes. Turnover includes revenue earned from the sale of goods and from the rendering of services. Turnover is reduced for estimated customer returns, rebates and other similar allowances.
Sale of goods
Turnover from the sale of goods is recognised when the significant risks and rewards of ownership of the goods has transferred to the buyer. This is usually at the point that the customer has signed for the delivery of the goods.
Rendering of services
Turnover from the rendering of services is recognised by reference to the stage of completion of the contract. The stage of completion of a contract is measured by comparing the costs incurred for work performed to date to the total estimated contract costs.
