ESPORTS YOUTH CLUB C.I.C.

Directors' report period ended 31 December 2025

The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 31 December 2025

Principal activities of the company

Esports Youth Club runs free, gaming-led youth clubs for young people, using gaming and esports to engage those who may not otherwise access traditional youth services. So far this year, we have delivered 336 sessions and recorded more than 3,000 attendances across free play, Esports Academy and bespoke external sessions. Much of this activity has been delivered through our West Norwood Library hub, where we run weekly free play and Academy sessions. Across the year, EYC has delivered from 12 different venues throughout South London, extending our reach while maintaining a strong base of regular community provision. Our sessions give young people a safe, welcoming space to spend time with others who share their interests. Gaming provides an accessible starting point for building friendships, confidence and communication skills, particularly for young people who can find more traditional youth settings difficult to engage with. In our previous impact work, 88% of young people surveyed said they had made at least one new friend through EYC, while participants also reported improvements in confidence, communication and mood. Alongside the social benefits, our Academy sessions provide more structured opportunities to develop teamwork, leadership, problem-solving and digital skills, while introducing young people to potential pathways into the gaming and wider creative industries.

Consultation with stakeholders

Our stakeholders are young people in South London between the ages of 6 - 20, and our average age in 2026 was 14. Feedback forms are regularly sent to our stakeholders to capture their opinions, which has allowed us to adapt and enhance our sessions accordingly. In response, we have provided multiple mentorship schemes and workshops, through partnerships with organisations like the Black Zynga Union as well as Melanin Gamers, to help develop their industry skills and knowledge of future career pathways. We are in the process of setting up a parents steering committee.
