Social Inclusion Through Sport continued the winter 11aside inclusion league which ended successfully with over 220 players participating over this time, we also set up a weekly drop-in training session alongside Walkergate FC on a Wednesday night at the Fossway which has numbers ranging from 12-32 each week. We have also been hosting the monthly 6aside league at Blakelaw Hub in the West End with around 7 or 8 regular teams, these have been fairly successful and continue to grow. On top of this we have just completed the second 11aside summer league with 8 teams taking part and all squads have used around 25 players each. Also currently working in partnership with Steve at Revival and Claire Hagleburg in setting up a Recovery All star awards program for recognising those unsung heroes who work within the city, so we have launched the Revival recovery ball. We also entered a team in the 1 st national mental health cup taking 20 lads and supporters to the final in Chorley which we won. Social Inclusion Through Sport work with Young People aged On the whole the project has been fairly successful with 20 registered members from the Walker area which is a good start, however it’s fair to say that it took the project a few weeks to get off the ground due to the time of the sessions, Although it is fairly successful at the moment one of the changes we are looking to implement is changing the day of the current session to a Wednesday night although there is a possibility that this could be an additional session. We have a Facebook page Social inclusion through sport CIC and are currently working on other social media outlets.
The company’s stakeholders are the young people and adults, who use our service, We have monthly consultations, and from these meetings we implement improvements or change if possible. We are a company that is guided by the young people, adults and they have a voice in how we run the company. Social Inclusion Through Sport will always strive to deliver the best service possible within budget.
