The not-for-profit company run physical activities for older people - primarily 50+. During the financial year 2025, the organisation has run the following activities. - Walking football. - Badminton. - Walking basketball. - Pickleball. - Running/walking group. - Over 40’s football. The above activities improve the physical and mental health of the participants - primarily based in Tamworth, Staffordshire. The benefits are not only physical (improved balance, less falls, disease prevention) but also mental (reduced feelings of isolation, improved mood and wellbeing, reduced stress and anxiety). We engage people living unhealthy, sedentary and/or isolated lives. We get people out of their homes and engaged with fun social activity. Participants mix with people their own age, make new friends, and reduce feelings of loneliness. A significant part of attending our activities is the social aspect. There are many participants that come along for a chat with friends, just as much as the exercise. The health benefits are numerous, including weight management, increased bone strength and reducing diseases such as strokes and diabetes. Participating in physical exercise also improves people’s mental health. Exercise can often take your mind off things, relieving depressive and stressful thoughts. Wider benefits include easing pressure on the NHS as fewer older people will be reporting to doctors/hospitals, as there will be less falls (through improved balance) and less health issues (through improved heart health, etc).
The company’s stakeholders are residents of Tamworth, Staffordshire and the surrounding areas. We continuously receive feedback about providing additional activities. We regularly get requests to deliver more activities from existing participants and get requests from the wider community to deliver new sports or activities. On the back of these requests, we consult with older people on what new activities we could offer. We have done this through surveys and face-to-face feedback. Project ideas come directly from older people in the community. We have not parachuted in from elsewhere as an organisation – we are very much a part of the local community! We regularly engage with the community on what activities to provide. This is vital for us, because if we don’t get our service right then people don’t turn up! We are a volunteer-friendly organisation with all our volunteers based locally. We also have a relationship with our local VCS (Support Staffordshire), where we are a member organisation.
The total amount paid or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services was £1,450.
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
