GEWE Global Network CIC (GEWE Network) works to address the specific challenges facing Global Majority women, particularly women of African heritage, aged 18 to 35. Our core purpose is to sup-port, Educate, mentor and Equip these women with the tools they need to step into leadership within public life and civic decision-making. We have delivered direct support through mentorship and workshops to over 250 Global Majority women, helping to break down the barriers standing between them and positions of influence. This work has played a part in dismantling the structural inequalities that so often push women in this group to the margins of decision-making spaces. The women we serve include unemployed school leavers, university students, graduates, those looking to build new skills, and women from disadvantaged backgrounds, reflecting the breadth of our reach. Through this work, GEWE Global Network CIC has strengthened its community by empowering young African women, championing diversity in leadership, tackling structural inequality and building a more inclusive society. Our efforts have helped shape confident, capable and influential Global Majority women who go on to take part in civic decision-making and act as role models in their communities. We have partnered with key stakeholders, including councillors across Greater Manchester, community leaders, subject matter experts and established organisations. These partnerships have created a platform that empowers and inspires young Global Majority women, drawing on a wide range of expertise for the good of the community.
GEWE Global Network CIC's (GEWE Network) stakeholders include: Global Majority women aged 18 to 35, including school leavers, university students, graduates, women seeking to enhance their skills, and those from disadvantaged communities across Greater Manchester, online participants, facilitators and speakers, councillors and community leaders. Stakeholder consultation has been conducted through feedback gathered during workshops and online sessions. In response to feedback from these consultations, GEWE Network has taken the following actions: 1 Focused on dismantling ethnic and gender-based barriers in leadership and political participation 2 Developed programme themes centred on women in leadership and building on their potential 3 Implemented initiatives to equip Global Majority women with skills for political participation 4 Highlighted the achievements of successful contemporary Global Majority women as role models 5 Expanded our online presence to reach a wider audience and tailored activities to support Global Majority women's personal and professional development These actions reflect GEWE Network's commitment to incorporating stakeholder feedback into its programming and initiatives. By working with a wide range of stakeholders, including local councillors, community leaders and established organisations, GEWE Network has built a more comprehensive and effective approach to meeting the needs of young Global Majority women. Our goal of supporting over 250 Global Majority women into influential positions reflects a concrete commitment to creating measurable change in response to stakeholder input and identified community needs.
