Hope Village received a grant from the National Lottery which enabled us to prepare for and deliver our planned programme of activities for mothers and babies within our community. The funding supported the development and delivery of activities including mother and baby fitness sessions, step classes, and mothers' brunches celebrating and supporting young mothers. These activities were designed to provide opportunities for mothers to improve their physical wellbeing, build confidence, develop social connections and reduce isolation. A key aim of the project was to ensure that activities were free of charge, removing financial barriers and enabling those who are most vulnerable or experiencing financial difficulties to access support and participate in community activities. The funding therefore enabled Hope Village to put its plans into action and create accessible opportunities for young mothers and families to come together in a safe, welcoming and supportive environment. The activities promoted wellbeing, community participation and social connection, while ensuring that cost was not a barrier to participation. The grant has helped Hope Village establish and deliver activities that provide a positive benefit to the local community and support mothers who may otherwise have limited access to affordable health, wellbeing and social activities.
