Notes to the Financial Statements
1. General Information
Alec French Partnership Limited is a private company, limited by shares, incorporated in England & Wales, registered number 01475294 . The registered office is 27 Trenchard Street, Bristol, BS1 5AN.
2. Accounting Policies
2.1. Basis of Preparation of Financial Statements
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard 102 section 1A Small Entities "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" and the Companies Act 2006.
The financial statements are prepared in sterling, which is the functional currency of the company,
and rounded to the nearest £.
2.2. Going Concern Disclosure
The financial statements have been prepared on a going concern basis, which assumes that the Company will continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future, and specifically for a period of at least twelve months from the date of approval of these financial statements.
The director has identified the following events or conditions which, individually or collectively, give rise to material uncertainty that may cast significant doubt over the Company's ability to continue as a going concern: net current liabilities of £277,356 at the balance sheet date; reliance on continued financial support from the company director and reliance on the continuation of support from the bank and other lenders..
In assessing going concern, the director has considered the following mitigating actions: a letter of support from the director confirming intended financial support for at least twelve months from the date of approval; cost reduction measures implemented since the year end; ongoing negotiations with lenders.
Having considered the above, the director has a reasonable expectation that the Company will have adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. However, the matters described above indicate the existence of a material uncertainty which may cast significant doubt on the Company's ability to continue as a going concern. The financial statements do not include the adjustments that would result if the Company were unable to continue as a going concern. Such adjustments would include reclassifying non-current assets as current assets, providing for further liabilities that might arise, and reclassifying fixed assets and long-term liabilities as current assets and liabilities.
2.3. Turnover
Turnover comprises the fair value of the consideration received or receivable for the provision of services in the ordinary course of the company's activities. Turnover is shown net of value added tax, rebates and discounts.
The company recognises revenue when:the amount of revenue can be measured reliably; it is probable that economic benefits associated with the transaction will flow to the entity; the stage of completion of the transaction at the end of the reporting period can be measured reliably; and the costs incurred for the transaction and the costs to complete the transaction can be measured reliably.
2.4. Tangible Fixed Assets and Depreciation
Tangible fixed assets are measured at cost less accumulated depreciation and any accumulated impairment losses. Depreciation is provided at rates calculated to write off the cost of the fixed assets, less their estimated residual value, over their expected useful lives on the following bases:
Fixtures & Fittings 10- 20% straight line method
2.5. Leasing and Hire Purchase Contracts
Leases in which substantially all the risks and rewards of ownership are retained by the lessor are classified as operating leases. Payments made under operating leases are charged to profit or loss on a straight-line basis over the period of the lease.
2.6. Taxation
The tax expense for the period comprises current tax. Tax is recognised in profit or loss, except that a change attributable to an item of income or expense recognised as other comprehensive income is also recognised directly in other comprehensive income.
The current income tax charge is calculated on the basis of tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the reporting date in the countries where the company operates and generates taxable income.

2.9. Defined contribution pension obligation
A defined contribution plan is a pension plan under which fixed contributions are paid into a pension fund and the company has no legal or constructive obligation to pay further contributions even if the fund does not hold sufficient assets to pay all employees the benefits relating to employee service in the current and prior periods.
