Going concern
The company is predominantly a dormant holding company for it's subsidiaries. It is dependent for its working capital on funds provided to it by its ultimate parent Questel Unite SAS. The company's ultimate parent company Questel Unite SAS has committed that it will provide financial and other support to the company for at least 12 months from the date of these financial statements. On this basis, and on the assessment of the company's financial position, the directors continue to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the financial statements.
Tax
The tax expense for the period comprises tax. Tax is recognised in profit or loss, except that a change attributable to an item of income or expense recognised as other comprehensive income is also recognised directly in other comprehensive income.
The current income tax charge is calculated on the basis of tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the reporting date in the countries where the company operates and generates taxable income.
Investments
Investments in subsidiary undertakings are stated at cost less accumulated impairment losses.
At each reporting date, the company assesses whether there is any indication that an investment may be impaired. If such an indication exists, the recoverable amount of the investment is estimated. Where the carrying amount exceeds the recoverable amount, an impairment loss is recognised immediately in profit or loss.
Share capital
Ordinary shares are classified as equity. Equity instruments are measured at the fair value of the cash or other resources received or receivable, net of the direct costs of issuing the equity instruments. If payment is deferred and the time value of money is material, the initial measurement is on a present value basis.
