Notes to the Financial Statements
1. General Information
Pangea Advisors Ltd is a private company, limited by shares, incorporated in England & Wales, registered number 06422175 . The registered office is 3rd Floor Portman House, 2, Portman Street, London, W1H 6DU.
2. Accounting Policies
2.1. Basis of Preparation of Financial Statements
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard 102 section 1A Small Entities "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" and the Companies Act 2006.
2.2. Going Concern Disclosure
The financial statements have been prepared on a going concern basis. At the balance sheet date the company had net current liabilities of £32,063 (2024: £38,306) and net assets of £13,012 (2024: £39,957). The director has considered the company's ability to meet its liabilities as they fall due for a period of at least twelve months from the date of approval of these financial statements, taking into account the fact that the amounts owed to and by Pangea Italia are not expected to be called for settlement other than on a net basis, and has concluded that it remains appropriate to prepare the financial statements on a going concern basis.
2.3. Significant judgements and estimations
In preparing these financial statements the director has made the following judgements which have a significant effect on the amounts recognised. The recoverable amount of the investment in, and of the amounts receivable from, Pangea Italia has been assessed following the loss of that undertaking's accounting records. An impairment of £11,269 has been recognised against the investment. No impairment has been recognised against the amount receivable of £315,789 (2024: £307,519) because the company also owes £358,876 (2024: £358,876) to the same undertaking and the balances are expected to be settled net. Were the balances not to be settled on this basis, a material adjustment to the carrying amount of the receivable would be required within the next financial year.
2.4. Turnover
Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, net of discounts and value added taxes. Turnover includes revenue earned from the sale of goods and from the rendering of services. Turnover is reduced for estimated customer returns, rebates and other similar allowances.
Sale of goods
Turnover from the sale of goods is recognised when the significant risks and rewards of ownership of the goods has transferred to the buyer. This is usually at the point that the customer has signed for the delivery of the goods.
Rendering of services
Turnover from the rendering of services is recognised by reference to the stage of completion of the contract. The stage of completion of a contract is measured by comparing the costs incurred for work performed to date to the total estimated contract costs. Turnover is only recognised to the extent of recoverable expenses when the outcome of a contract cannot be estimated reliably.
2.5. Intangible Fixed Assets and Amortisation - Other Intangible
Other intangible assets comprise branding copyright, which is amortised to the profit and loss account over its estimated economic life of three years.
2.6. Foreign Currencies
