LANCASTER MUSIC FESTIVAL CIC

Company activities and impact

We took a break in 2025 and did not run the festival, taking the time to review operations, organisation and funding strategies and plan a return in 2026. However, our outreach programmes continued in the summer with a project that took local rock band Massive Wagons into primary schools around Morecambe Bay to perform their Forget the Haters anti-bullying workshops, culminating in a show to Lancaster district primary schools at the Great Hall at Lancaster University. This project engaged with 560 pupils at the workshops and 460 at the show, a total of 1,020 pupils from 13 schools. We supported Lancaster BID who ran a replacement festival in October 2025, providing planning, logistics and IT services. As a member of the Lancaster Arts Partnership we collaborated with other arts organisations in the area to determine best practice in the local cultural sector.

Consultation with stakeholders

LMF CIC received income from the following grant funding trusts and organisations: Metal For Good - £3,500 - Restricted grant – MW primary school tour We met with Lancaster BID several times to assist with the planning of their Love Lancaster Live event which temporarily replaced Lancaster Music Festival. Other Organisations: we are an active member of the Lancaster District Arts Partnership, an un-constituted partnership of local arts organisations (theatres, dance groups, artists, local council etc). We work together to promote the arts in Lancaster, to raise awareness of the rich cultural offering in the city to a wider audience and to increase visitor numbers to Lancaster.
