Seeds for Growth continued to deliver practical, community focused environmental projects across London estates, supporting residents to improve local green spaces, build confidence, and strengthen neighbourhood connections.
Demand for work remained high throughout the year, reflecting both the value of accessible nature based activities and the ongoing need for community engagement in areas with limited green space.
The estate based gardening programme remained at the heart of our delivery. Weekly sessions brought residents together to plant, maintain, and revitalise shared outdoor areas. These activities created visible improvements to communal spaces, encouraged local stewardship, and helped reduce isolation by providing a welcoming, social environment that embraces people of all ages, all ethnicities, and genders.
Alongside regular gardening sessions, Seeds for Growth delivered a series of practical workshops covering urban food growing, composting, pollinator friendly planting, and nature based wellbeing. These sessions were well attended with participants reporting increased skills, confidence, and environmental awareness.
Youth engagement continued to grow, particularly during school holidays, with young people taking part in hands on outdoor activities that supported teamwork, learning, and connection to nature.
Volunteers also played a vital role throughout the year, contributing time, energy, and expertise that enabled us to expand delivery and maintain a friendly, inclusive atmosphere.
Partnerships strengthened our reach and impact. We worked closely with housing providers, local authorities, community centres, and environmental networks, ensuring our work remained responsive to local priorities and embedded within wider community initiatives.
The Trustees are pleased to report that Seeds for Growth maintained strong governance and oversight during the year. The Board met six times to review progress, monitor risks, and ensure compliance with safeguarding, data protection, and operational standards. No serious incidents were reported.
