For this reporting period, Oldbury United CIC. We are now a 3* Accredited club and offer football to boys, girls and disabled sections of our community. has been active in the in Sandwell. Operating in LSOA 1 and 2 in the 8th most socially deprived borough in England. The main offer is football based where the club hosts football activities for those aged 4yrs to 40yrs. We create volunteer opportunities for people aged 14 – 60 yrs and have developed a youth volunteer forum. Our face-to-face engagement to circa 700 unique users per week delivered by dedicated volunteers. Most volunteers being club managers and coaches who manage football teams. We have mentors who engage on specific projects involving children and young people. We run bespoke wellbeing projects in the community including open sessions and school based learning, as well as targeted services to unheard and under-served sections of the community. Our team of locally-based staff and volunteers deliver targeted activities and projects for people of every generation to participate in. We run football and education activities 50 weeks of the year. The activities provide access to sports for young people at risk and includes, healthy food, education and at our core, extensive volunteering opportunities for young people to build their CV and help them into employment. Our social impact in terms of health, education, wellbeing and crime reduction has been calculated in excess of 2.5 million.
The stakeholders are the organisations participants and partners. The organisation reaches out to the members through face to face conversations, registrations and questionnaires. The club holds meetings with committee members and managers. The main feedback from parents and carers is around keeping subscriptions low so we can engage more people in affordable sport. The committee is engaging, visible and approachable. They have also requested that we refurbish a home base so the children have a sense of belonging. Oldbury United has worked hard with the Local Authority, Football Foundation and the National Governing Body to deliver a home venue at Cakemore Playing Fields where extensive groundwork and building renovations have taken place. Following specific projects participants and members have the opportunity to provide feedback and where appropriate future delivery is changed to meet their needs. An example being, Oldbury United operates half term food and activity projects where we elicit feedback from parents and participants about the quality of service delivered and improvements. following feedback from participants we now include dance elements and athletics during the camps.
