NuDawn CIC delivered a range of community cultural events and projects focused on celebrating the Windrush generation and its legacy and supporting underrepresented grassroots talent. These activities benefited the community in several ways; Free and accessible cultural events: We organised community festivals, poetry events and educational activities that were open to the public. These events provided opportunities for members of the community to come together, share stories and learn about shared history in an accessible and welcoming environment. Volunteering and skills development: Volunteers were involved in planning and delivering events, gaining practical experience in event management, teamwork and community event organising. Social cohesion and wellbeing: The events encouraged intergenerational dialogue, reduced social isolation and strengthened community bonds. Feedback from participants has been positive, with many expressing appreciation for the opportunity to celebrate their heritage and connect with others. Partnerships: We worked with other local organisations and funders to maximise the reach and impact of our activities ensuring that resources were used effectively for community benefit. Whilst the company faced financial challenges during the year, the social impact of our work has been significant and has helped to build a stronger more connected community. More details of our activities can be found on our website; www.nudawncic.co.uk
NuDawn CIC regularly consults with its stakeholders to ensure that its activities meet community needs and are delivered effectively. During the this year, consultation took place in the following ways; We engaged with attendees and members of the community before, during and after events to gather feedback on what worked well and what could be improved. This helped shape the planning for future events and activities. Our volunteers, including a founding member who is actively involved, were consulted on event planning, delivery and scheduling. Their input was essential for us to ensure activities were inclusive and practical. We worked closely with partner organisations such as Action for Race Equality, British Futures and other local suppliers and venues. Regular communication ensured that services were delivered to the required standard adn that community needs were met. We maintained contact with our funders, including Action for Race Equality to report on progress and discuss any changes to planned activities. This ensured alignment with funding objectives and community benefit. The board of directors met regularly to review activities, discuss stakeholder feedback and make decisions about future projects. Thai ensured that the CIC remained accountable and responsive to the community. Consultation with stakeholders has been ongoing and informal, but effective.
