During 2025, Beyond Just Words successfully delivered four training sessions to over 120 people, in both faith and health sectors. Evaluations were very positive with 53% of attendees in the faith sector rating the training excellent and 35% rating it good. In the health sector the organisation’s own free text evaluation form was used, where comments were overwhelmingly positive. This training increased the confidence of those attending, both to recognise different types of abuse and to see abuse from the uniquely important perspective of those who have survived it. Those attending were a range of clergy, religious and chaplains. In addition, presentations on our work were given in three Roman Catholic parishes, raising awareness of the impact of abuse in the spiritual context for lay members of these congregations. We also developed a range of leaflets to explain different types of abuse and their impact. Two directors were asked to evaluate two documents by the Roman Catholic Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors from the perspective of survivors, injecting the survivor voice into their process. Two new directors joined the board increasing the diversity of the collective experience, particularly in respect of young people
All our training is bespoke so in the process of discussing training needs we consult the trainee organisations as stakeholders. For example we were asked for training in online safety, which we designed and duly delivered. Through our evaluations forms we consult the individual trainees as stakeholders. This enables us better to understand their needs for future training. In regular consultations with our funder, another stakeholder, we received feedback on our approach, sharing evaluations and all policies with them responding to their comments. We also discussed our work with another 7 organisations across the year, to broaden our understanding of the sectors working the same field as ourselves
The total amount paid or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services was £38587. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
