Significant judgements and estimates
In preparing the financial statements, the directors are required to make judgements estimates and assumptions that affect the amounts reported.
The key judgements applied relates to determining the appropriate useful economic lives of tangible fixed assets based on expected usage and condition of equipment.
Key sources of estimation uncertainty include:
Stock valuation - assessing provisions for obsolete and slow-moving stock requires estimates of future saleability and net realisable value.
Deferred tax - the recognition of deferred tax assets and liabilities involves estimating the timing and the reversal of temporary timing differences.
Depreciation rates - determining rates reflective of the expected pattern of consumption of economic benefits.
These estimates are reviewed regularly and revised where necessary.
Turnover and revenue recognition
Turnover or revenue represents the fair value of goods supplied to customers in the normal course of business, net of discounts, returns and Value Added Tax.
Revenue from the sale of goods is recognised when all of the following conditions are met:
- the company has transferred the significant risks and rewards of ownership to the customer;
- the company retains neither continuing managerial involvement nor effective control over the goods sold;
- the amount of revenue can be measured reliably;
- it is probable that the economic benefits associated with the transaction will flow to the company, and
- the costs incurred or to be incurred in respect of the transaction can be measured reliably.
For Ezee Group International Limited the risks and rewards transfer upon despatch to the customer.
