Directors' report period ended 31 December 2025

The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 31 December 2025

Principal activities of the company

Our Mission We remain steadfast in our mission: to help underrepresented talent launch sustainable careers in the digital sector, while supporting businesses in widening their talent pool by providing access to a diverse range of skilled candidates. Our core belief continues to be that it should be "What You Know" (WYK), not who you know, that determines your ability to access opportunity in the modern economy. Our Impact Since our founding in 2020, we have delivered 52 cohorts and supported 1,301 learners onto our programmes. Our impact to date includes: - 92% course completion rate - 72% of alumni earning £30k or more within two years of completion - 94% of learners would recommend WYK to family and friends - 96% report increased employability as a result of our courses - 230 companies have hired WYKers, and 163 businesses have been supported directly through our programmes, receiving £73,000 of donated advertising spend between them - Employers report an average starting salary of £27,500 for our graduates and value the training they receive at up to £3.4m in aggregate, against a typical course cost of £5,500 Of those benefiting from our courses: - 74% are from minority ethnic communities - 70% were previously eligible for free school meals - 55% are female - 52% come from the most deprived third of the country by the Index of Multiple Deprivation - 67% have no degree education Shortly after the year end, in February 2026, WYK underwent its first Ofsted inspection. The Lead Inspector described our results as "a remarkable achievement from a relatively new provider." We were rated Strong for Teaching & Curriculum and for Inclusion, and Expected for Leadership, Achievement and Participation. We also secured a third Direct Award from the Greater London Authority at the end of 2025, for delivery through 2026, continuing an important funding relationship. Analysis of Development and Performance 2025 was a harder trading year than any we have faced since founding. Turnover was £716,744, down 4.0% from £746,725 in 2024, the first year-on-year decline in the company's history. This reflects a labour market backdrop in which youth unemployment has risen by more than a million, alongside sustained pressure on corporate diversity and inclusion budgets and funding reallocation across government skills programmes. Despite the fall in turnover, we responded with tighter cost discipline. Cost of sales fell by 27.3% to £113,691, driven by lower direct delivery costs, and gross margin improved from 79.1% to 84.1%. Operating surplus rose to £14,400, up 43.7% on the £10,023 achieved in 2024, and surplus before tax increased to £8,751 from £8,215. Cash at bank and in hand strengthened to £138,847 from £79,907, and net assets grew to £48,653 from £41,833. Longer-term creditors increased to £99,449 from £63,017 during the year, reflecting new blended social investment drawn to support working capital as we scale. We maintained our core team at an average of six employees during the year, the same as in 2024, while continuing to draw on our network of freelance industry trainers to deliver our programmes which allowed us to flex our operating costs. Looking Forward Looking ahead, we are focused on building resilience and diversifying our income base. During the year we were awarded a multi-year contract to deliver Adult Skills Fund and Free Courses for Jobs provision, giving us smaller, modular courses that can support learners unable to commit to a full ten-week Skills Bootcamp. We will continue to seek commissions with regional partners to diversify how we reach and support young people. In 2026 we moved into new premises at Pan Arts, Vauxhall, providing dedicated delivery and events space in central London with good access for both learners and employer partners. Also in 2026, we secured a blended grant and loan award from the Postcode Innovation Trust to explore a new apprenticeships offer, building on our track record in Skills Bootcamps. 2026 also sees the launch of our proprietary Student Information System, a bespoke database that will strengthen government reporting, compliance and security as we scale, and will also serve as our own applicant tracking platform, mapping trainee strengths and post-programme support. Having launched our "AI & Automation for Business" Skills Bootcamp in 2025 with industry leaders, we continue to evolve our course content to keep pace with changes in the digital sector. I am confident that the coming year will build on the resilience we have shown in 2025. I would like to thank the WYK team, the learners we serve, and our employer partners, funders and wider supporters, whose continued backing and confidence in our mission makes this work possible. On behalf of the Board Robert Jackson
