Notes to the Financial Statements
1. General Information
BRIDPORT PROPERTIES LIMITED is a private company, limited by shares, incorporated in England & Wales, registered number 05043582 . The registered office is Suite 6, Floor 2 Congress House, 14 Lyon Road, Harrow, HA1 2EN.
2. Accounting Policies
2.1. Basis of Preparation of Financial Statements
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard 102 section 1A Small Entities "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" and the Companies Act 2006.
Presentation currency
The accounts are presented in £ sterling.
2.2. Turnover
Turnover comprises rental income receivable from the letting of the Company's investment properties and management fees earned from the administration and management of the freehold estate. Amounts are stated exclusive of value added tax.
Rental income is recognised on a straight-line basis over the period of the relevant lease. Management fee income is recognised in the period in which the related services are provided. Turnover is recognised when the amount can be measured reliably and it is probable that the economic benefits associated with the transaction will flow to the Company.
2.3. Tangible Fixed Assets and Depreciation
Tangible fixed assets are measured at cost less accumulated depreciation and any accumulated impairment losses. Depreciation is provided at rates calculated to write off the cost of the fixed assets, less their estimated residual value, over their expected useful lives on the following bases:
Freehold NIL
Plant & Machinery 15% Reducing Balance
2.4. Investment Properties
Investment properties are properties held to earn rental income and/or for capital appreciation. Investment properties are initially measured at cost and subsequently remeasured to fair value at each reporting date, with changes in fair value recognised in profit or loss.
2.5. Taxation
A current tax liability is recognised for the tax payable on the taxable profit of the current and past periods. A current tax asset is recognised in respect of a tax loss that can be carried back to recover tax paid in a previous period. Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences between the recognition of income and expenses in the financial statements and their inclusion in tax assessments. Unrelieved tax losses and other deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that it is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred tax liabilities or other future taxable profits. Deferred tax is
measured using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the reporting date and that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference, except for revalued land and investment property where the tax rate that applies to the sale of the asset is used. Current and deferred tax assets and liabilities are not discounted.
2.6. Debtors
Short term debtors are measured at transaction price (which is usually the invoice price), less any impairment losses for bad and doubtful debts. Loans and other financial assets are initially recognised at transaction price including any transaction costs and subsequently measured at amortised cost determined using the effective interest method, less any impairment losses for bad and doubtful debts.
Creditors
Short term creditors are measured at transaction price (which is usually the invoice price). Loans and other financial liabilities are initially recognised at transaction price net of any transaction costs and subsequently measured at amortised cost determined using the effective interest method.
