HOUSING SOLUTIONS DEVELOPMENT LTD

Notes to the Financial Statements

for the Period Ended 31 March 2026

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

Turnover consists of revenue from construction contracts. Turnover and cost of sales are recognised when the outcome of a contract can be estimated reliably and by reference to the stage of completion of contract activity as a proportion of total value at the end of the accounting period.

    Other accounting policies

1 Accounting Policies Housing Solutions Developments Limited is a private company limited by shares and incorporated in England & Wales under the Companies Act. The address of the registered office is given on page 2, and its principal activities are given in the Directors report. a) Basis of accounting These financial statements are prepared in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard 102 to smaller entities by the adoption of Section 1A of FRS 102. The financial statements have also been prepared in line with the requirements of the regime, and under the historical cost convention. The disclosure requirements of section 1A of FRS 102 have been applied other than where additional disclosure is required to show a true and fair view. b) Turnover Turnover consists of revenue from construction contracts. Turnover and cost of sales are recognised when the outcome of a contract can be estimated reliably and by reference to the stage of completion of contract activity as a proportion of total value at the end of the accounting period. c) Work in progress Work in progress is valued at direct cost less foreseeable losses and payments received on account and stated at the lower of cost and net realisable value. Cost comprises costs of acquisition and development, including directly attributable fees and expenses. d) The tax expense for the period comprises current and deferred tax. Tax is recognised in profit or loss, except that a charge attributable to an item of income or expense recognised as other comprehensive income or to an item recognised directly in equity is also recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity respectively. The current income tax charge is calculated on the basis of tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the reporting date in the countries where the Company's subsidiaries operate and generate taxable income. Deferred balances are recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed by the balance sheet date, except: the recognition of deferred tax assets is limited to the extent that it is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred tax liabilities or other future taxable profits; and any deferred tax balances are reversed if and when all conditions for retaining associated tax allowances have been met. The qualifying charitable donation made to its parent, Housing Solutions. e) Going concern The directors consider the use of the going concern basis of accounting is appropriate because there are no material uncertainties related to events or conditions that may cast significant doubt about the ability of the Company to continue as a going concern. The Company has contracts with its parent company Housing Solutions for the construction of residential properties, which enable it to meet its liabilities as they fall due. The directors have had sight of the forecasts relating to its parent company when making this assessment. In addition to those contracted, the parent company is continuing to seek new opportunities to develop on existing land owned by, or new land to be acquired, or take advantage of section 106 opportunities - The parent business plan assumes a continued development programme for the next 10 years. Currently no contracts are in place with the parent, but two development sites are earmarked for development that Housing Solutions Development Ltd is expected to contract on. The Parent will not be calling in the intercompany debt. f) Financial assets Financial assets are initially measured at transaction price (including transaction costs) and subsequently held at amortised cost, less any impairment. g) Financial liabilities and equity Financial liabilities and equity are classified according to the substance of the financial instrument's contractual obligations, rather than the financial instrument's legal form. Financial liabilities are initially measured at transaction price (after deducting transaction costs) and subsequently held at amortised cost. h) Finance costs Finance costs are charged to profit or loss over the term of the debt using the effective interest rate method so that the amount charged is at a constant rate on the carrying amount. Issue costs are initially recognised as a reduction in the proceeds of the associated capital instrument. i) Cashflow statement The Company's results for the period ended 31 March 2026 are included in the consolidated financial statements of Housing Solutions, which are publicly available. Consequently, the Company has taken advantage of the exemption from preparing a cash flow statement.
