Warmsworth Community Pre-school provides childcare for children aged 2-5 in Warmsworth and surrounding villages. The Pre-school opened as a CIC in May 2008. Our company continues to maintain a steady flow of children throughout the year. We continue to provide flexible childcare and education for all of our families in the surrounding areas and we have provided an increasing number of nursery places when their children haven't been able to access a place at the local Primary School but mostly because we are far more flexible, being able to meet our family’s needs. We continue to provide wrap around care for our children that have moved up to the Primary School Nursery, but whose parents need childcare provision from 9 am until 3pm that the school does not provide. We continue to work closely with local agencies, children's centres and health to ensure all our children and their families receive the right support that they need. We have developed good links with the health visiting team who visit us on a termly basis to share information about children who are due to start. This has been of great benefit as it enables our setting to meet the needs of individual children. We still focus very much on providing the different experiences some children may not get at home and ensure children experience essential life skills such as self-care, dressing, eating healthy, keeping clean and most important socialising and making friends. We have as always, cared for children this year with varying needs, including children with social communication difficulties and many children with communication needs. We aim to ensure that all our families and their children have a positive experience when making the transition into mainstream education and work closely with new schools and settings. We have strong links with social care and have provided care for several Looked After Children that live with Foster Parents. We support local businesses wherever we can, many staff buy their lunch from a family run coffee shop in the village. We buy our milk and fruit for the children from our local corner shop. The children visit local services such as the post office and the library, which in turn encourages their families to utilise the services also. The children take part in local events each year for e.g. the local gala by creating the decorations for the float. We make poppies for the Remembrance Sunday parade and attend the church service. We rent our building from the Parish Council whom then in turn puts money back into the community via community grants. The company has provided full-time employment for 8 local residents and part time for 5 other local residents (all of whom live in Warmsworth).
The stakeholders are our parents and children and their views and opinions are always consulted on, via small questionnaires and newsletters and pre-entry meetings with parents. All parents take part in a pre-entry meeting, detailing everything about their child but also what they would like to benefit from having their child at our pre-school and what they want them to achieve. The main focus, which arises every year is for their children to be able to socialise and make friends and develop their speech. Our planning focuses very much on speech development.
The renumeration of directors is identified in the accounts and there were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with renumeration of directors, or compensation for directors loss of office, which require to be disclosed
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
