Ffynnone CIC runs four community gardens where the local community can grow food and socialise. The gardens are used for community events such as Cilgerran Festival week garden party. The gardens are also used to host training events in horticulture for young people run by Ffynnone that are fully accredited leading to a recognised qualification. Training events in growing and preserving for adults are also hosted in the gardens. We organise monthly local community meals where the produce to prepare the meals is sourced and prepared locally and a weekly community fridge where local surplus produce is distributed. We also support a local farmers market. Ffynnone runs a farm start program and a community farm for people who wish to get into farming and horticulture, providing training, equipment and access to land. We also run the " Save the Teifi" group which is campaigning and acting to reduce pollution in the Teifi river.
We consult with the local community by surveys and face to face meetings to understand what they want Ffynnon as a community organisation to do. We consult with our volunteers and staff at various levels taking on board their needs and ideas. We liaise with other like minded organisations to maximise effectiveness and meet regularly with those we need to influence such as Welsh Water and NWR. We have several social media groups where people are invited to contribute ideas/attend meetings.
