During the year, Be-inn Unity C.I.C. has continued to deliver a range of initiatives that support the mental health and wellbeing of young people, local community members and armed forces veterans. We delivered our mental health training to 380 young people across 6 local authority areas in Scotland, helping them build the confidence to talk openly about mental health, hold meaningful conversations and create initiatives that support the wellbeing of their communities. This has resulted in them opening a total of 5000 conversations and delivering several Young Person Orientated Mental Health Workshops. We also provided welfare services within high schools, supporting both children and adults with their mental health. A major development this year has been the growth of The Bothy, our school-based initiative providing a safe, relational space for vulnerable young people. We opened a further 3 Bothy spaces during the year, meaning we now have 5 operational, supporting over 800 young people across 4 local authority areas. Through The Bothy, our Community and Relationship Mentors deliver a range of trauma informed, attachment focused mental health interventions, including Kitbag, Pause and Reset, Dare to Venture, Community Connections, our Mental Health Group, and dedicated groups for young carers and care experienced young people. We measure the impact of every Bothy intervention using a validated connectedness survey developed by Professor Helen Minnis, Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Glasgow, whose research shows that improvements in connectedness directly improve health and life outcomes for young people. Across our Bothy schools this year, average attendance ranged from 88% to 95%, and young people's average connectedness scores rose from between 36% and 46% at entry to between 78% and 82% at exit. These are significant, measurable improvements in how young people feel about themselves, their relationships and their capacity to seek support. Our Community and Relationship Mentors work directly alongside school communities in both primary and high schools, offering therapeutic relationships to some of the most traumatised young people in our communities. They are qualified to deliver a range of regulated qualifications, and this year delivered accredited courses including Leading Mental Health First Aid at SQA Level 6 and Leading and Enabling Mental Health, alongside personal development workshops focused on confidence, self-awareness and practical tools for self-reflection. Relationships remain at the heart of our ethos, creating the conditions for individuals to thrive. We continued to run the Veteran ERV, our mental health and suicide prevention group offering a safe space for veterans to connect and get support when they are struggling. The group has continued to grow and has supported over 55 veterans across the UK. Our intergenerational programme gave young people the opportunity to connect weekly with older generations in care homes, making tea and cakes, visiting garden centres and sharing stories of their lives. This builds empathy in young people and brings joy and meaningful relationships to those in care. We also continued to deliver nature-based activities, including nature walks, hill walks and camping expeditions. These complement our personal development work and give young people the skills and confidence to connect with nature throughout their lives.
Stakeholders – Local high schools across North Lanarkshire, Falkirk, Glasgow City, East Dunbartonshire, Clackmannanshire, Stirling, Inverclyde and South Ayrshire local authority areas. Veterans, Scottish Government, BT Openreach, Barclays Bank, McLaren Packaging, University of Glasgow. We have continued to collaborate with our stakeholders and listen to their feedback on what our services are providing as well as what services will add more value to their community. Our programmes have change to deliver what is required for that specific community. Stakeholders take part in regular meetings before and after sessions, as well as completing online surveys and feedback forms. In addition to feedback from those involved in the initiatives, we also seek it from parents and caregivers of the young people we support, ensuring they are involved in the wider aspect of wellbeing and support.
There was directors renumeration of £33000 and we can confirm no other transactions were paid.
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
