NOTES TO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 JULY 2025

1. STATUTORY INFORMATION

C W Bikes Limited is a private company, limited by shares , registered in England and Wales. The company's registered number and registered office address can be found on the Company Information page.

The presentational currency of the financial statements is Pound Sterling (£) which is rounded to the nearest Pound (£).

2. ACCOUNTING POLICIES

Basis of preparing the financial statements
These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard 102 "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" including the provisions of Section 1A "Small Entities" and the Companies Act 2006. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention.

GOING CONCERN

The financial statements have been prepared on the going concern basis. In making this assessment, the director has considered the company's current and forecast trading performance, cash flow forecasts and available financial resources for a period of at least twelve months from the date of approval of these financial statements.

The director has concluded that the company has adequate resources to continue in operational existence and to meet its liabilities as they fall due for the foreseeable future. Accordingly, the director continues to adopt the going concern basis in preparing the financial statements.

In reaching this conclusion, the director has considered the ongoing litigation referred to in the contingent liability disclosure note. Whilst the outcome of that matter remains uncertain, the director has recognised a provision based on professional advice received and has taken the potential impact of the litigation into account when assessing the company's ability to continue as a going concern.

Turnover
Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, excluding discounts, rebates, value added tax and other sales taxes.

Turnover represents income generated from the rental of residential and commercial property, this income is recognised in the period in which the rental takes place, income in relation to the sale of motor vehicles and machinery is recognised when ownership is transferred.

Goodwill
Goodwill, being the amount paid in connection with the acquisition of a business in 2014, is being amortised evenly over its estimated useful life of ten years.

Intangible assets
Intangible assets are initially measured at cost. After initial recognition, intangible assets are measured at cost less any accumulated amortisation and any accumulated impairment losses.

2. ACCOUNTING POLICIES - continued

Tangible fixed assets
Tangible fixed assets are initially recognised at cost and subsequently measured at cost lest accumulated depreciation and amortisation. Depreciation is provided at the following annual rates in order to write off each asset over its estimated useful life:

Freehold land-Not depreciated
Plant and machinery-25% on cost
Motor vehicles-15% on reducing balance

At each balance sheet date, the company reviews the carrying amount of its tangible fixed assets to determine whether there is any indication that any items have suffered an impairment loss. If any such indication exists, the recoverable amount of an asset is estimated in order to determine the extent of the impairment loss, if any. Where it is not possible to estimate the recoverable amount of the asset, the company estimates the recoverable amount of the cash-generating unit to which the asset belongs.

Investment property
Investment property is shown at most recent valuation. Any aggregate surplus or deficit arising from changes in fair value is recognised in profit or loss.

Stocks
Stocks are valued at the lower of cost and net realisable value, after making due allowance for obsolete and slow moving items.

Financial instruments
Financial instruments are classified by the director as basis or advanced following the conditions in FRS 102 section 1a. Basic financial instruments are recognised at amortised cost using the effective interest method unless the effect of discounting would be immaterial, in which case they are stated at cost. The company has no advanced financial instruments.

Taxation
Taxation for the year comprises current and deferred tax. Tax is recognised in the Statement of Income and Retained Earnings, except to the extent that it relates to items recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity.

Current or deferred taxation assets and liabilities are not discounted.

Current tax is recognised at the amount of tax payable using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the balance sheet date.

Deferred tax
Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date.

Timing differences arise from the inclusion of income and expenses in tax assessments in periods different from those in which they are recognised in financial statements. Deferred tax is measured using tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the year end and that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference.

Unrelieved tax losses and other deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that it is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred tax liabilities or other future taxable profits.

Leasing commitments
Rentals paid under operating leases are charged to profit or loss on a straight line basis over the period of the lease.

Employee costs, pension costs and other post-retirement benefits
The company operates a defined contribution pension scheme. Contributions payable to the company's pension scheme are charged to profit or loss in the period to which they relate.

12. LITIGATION AND LEGAL CLAIM

The company is currently involved in ongoing legal proceedings. The outcome of the court case remains uncertain and, accordingly, the ultimate financial impact on the company cannot be determined with certainty at the balance sheet date.

The director has obtained professional legal and other relevant advice in relation to the claim. Based on that advice, a provision has been recognised in these financial statements representing the directors' best estimate of the liability expected to arise from the matter.

However, the final outcome of the proceedings may differ from the estimate provided for and, consequently, the eventual liability could be greater than the amount recognised in the financial statements. The case is expected to conclude during the early part of 2027, at which time the extent of any additional liability, if any, will become known.
