Severn Community Therapy have provided support to local residents in North Somerset. Through support from local grants, we have provided Physiotherapy-led silent discos in multiple care homes. These have led to numerous physical, mental and emotional benefits for care homes residents and staff. They have also been featured in local newspapers, radio programmes and news broadcasts.
We have held discussions with care home managers to understand their needs in supporting and engaging their residents in physical activities. We have met with the Portishead Wellbeing Partnership to understand key areas of need in our community that we can support. We have met with the local AgeUK team and Portishead Youth and Community Centre to discuss how we can support older adults to remain more active.
