Company information

1.1
Accounting convention
These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard 102 "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" including the provisions of Section 1A "Small Entities" and the Companies Act 2006. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention.
1.2
Going concern
The director recognizes that the future cannot be predicted with certainty. The director expects the company totrue continue trading and generating profit. Profit before tax for the year ended 30 April 2026 was £357k (2025: £25k), and reserves were £3.85m (2025: £3.58m). Therefore, the director has a reasonable expectation that the company has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. As a result, the director continues to adopt the going concern basis in preparing the financial statements.
1.3
Turnover
Turnover represents the aggregate of the fair value of the sale of motor vehicles, net of value added tax. Sales of motor vehicles are recognised when the company has supplied the vehicle to the customer, the customer has accepted the vehicle and the collection of related receivables is anticipated.
1.4
Tangible fixed assets
Tangible fixed assets are initially measured at cost and subsequently measured at cost or valuation, net of depreciation and any impairment losses.
Depreciation is provided at the following annual rates in order to write off each asset over its estimated useful life.
Leasehold improvements
33% on cost
Fixtures and fittings
20% on cost
Computers
10% on cost
The residual values, estimated useful lives and depreciation method of property, plant and equipment are reviewed, and adjusted as appropriate, at each statement of financial position date. The effects of any revision are recognised in the income statement when the change arises.
1.5
Fixed asset investments
Fixed asset investments are recognised at cost less any permanent diminution in value.
1.6
Stocks
Stocks are valued at the lower of cost and net realisable value, after making due allowance for obsolete and slow moving items. Net realisable value is estimated selling price less costs to complete and sell.
Cost is defined as the purchase price of the stock item.

1.7
Financial instruments
The company only enters into basic financial instrument transactions that result in the recognition of financial assets and liabilities like trade and other accounts receivable and payable, loans from banks and other third parties and loans to related parties.
Financial assets that are measured at cost and amortised cost are assessed at the end of each reporting period for objective evidence of impairment. If objective evidence of impairment is found, an impairment loss is recognised in the income statement.
Basic financial liabilities are initially measured at transaction price and subsequently measured at amortised cost, being the transaction price less any amounts settled.
Basic financial assets
Basic financial assets, which include debtors and cash and bank balances, are initially measured at transaction price including transaction costs and are subsequently carried at amortised cost using the effective interest method unless the arrangement constitutes a financing transaction, where the transaction is measured at the present value of the future receipts discounted at a market rate of interest. Financial assets classified as receivable within one year are not amortised.
Classification of financial liabilities
The company only enters into basic financial instruments transactions that result in the recognition of financial assets and liabilities like trade and other accounts receivable and payable, loans from other third parties and loans from related parties. Financial assets that are measured at cost and amortised cost are assessed at the end of each financial period for objective evidence of impairment. If objective evidence of impairment is found, an impairment loss is recognised in the income statement. Basic financial liabilities are initially measured at transaction price and subsequently measured at amortised cost, being the transaction price less any amounts settled.
Basic financial liabilities
Basic financial liabilities, including creditors, bank loans, loans from fellow group companies and preference shares that are classified as debt, are initially recognised at transaction price unless the arrangement constitutes a financing transaction, where the debt instrument is measured at the present value of the future payments discounted at a market rate of interest. Financial liabilities classified as payable within one year are not amortised.
Debt instruments are subsequently carried at amortised cost, using the effective interest rate method.
Trade creditors are obligations to pay for goods or services that have been acquired in the ordinary course of business from suppliers. Amounts payable are classified as current liabilities if payment is due within one year or less. If not, they are presented as non-current liabilities. Trade creditors are recognised initially at transaction price and subsequently measured at amortised cost using the effective interest method.

Judgements and key sources of estimation uncertainty
Estimates and judgements are continually evaluated and are based on historical experience and other factors, including expectations of future events that are believed to be reasonable under the circumstances. Although these estimates are based on the management's best knowledge of the amount, events or actions, actual results ultimately may differ from those estimates.
The estimates are continually evaluated. Revisions to accounting estimates are recognised in the period in which the estimate is revised.
The estimates and assumptions which have a significant risk of causing a material adjustment to the carrying amount of assets and liabilities are outlined below:
Making judgement based on historical experience on the level of provision required for impairment of stock. Further information received after the statement of financial position date may impact on the level of provision required.
