Autistic After Hours CIC delivered weekly autism friendly support groups across Paignton and Torbay throughout this extended reporting period. These groups provided safe, predictable, and sensory considerate spaces for autistic adults who often struggle to access mainstream environments. Activities included peer support sessions, structured social groups, creative activities, informal wellbeing check ins, and signposting to local services. Attendance increased steadily, with many participants attending regularly and reporting improved wellbeing, reduced isolation, and increased confidence in accessing community spaces. The company’s activities have benefited the community by reducing social isolation, improving mental wellbeing, and creating accessible opportunities for autistic adults to connect with others. Participants reported feeling less alone, more understood, and better able to manage daily life. The wider community benefited through improved social inclusion and reduced pressure on statutory services. All activities were provided at low or no cost, ensuring accessibility for autistic adults on low incomes or benefits.
Autistic After Hours CIC’s stakeholders include autistic adults who attend our support groups, volunteers who assist with group delivery, and local community partners who refer individuals or collaborate informally. Stakeholders have been consulted throughout the reporting period through ongoing conversations during sessions, informal feedback, and regular check ins about accessibility, session structure, and support needs. Participants have shared what works well for them, including predictable routines, sensory considerate environments, and opportunities for peer connection. Volunteers have provided feedback on group flow, communication needs, and practical considerations such as venue layout and session timing. In response to this feedback, the company has made several adjustments, including refining session formats, increasing sensory friendly adaptations, improving communication clarity, and ensuring activities remain accessible and low pressure. We have also adapted group content based on participant interests and needs, and strengthened safeguarding and organisational processes in line with stakeholder input. This ongoing consultation ensures that our activities remain responsive, inclusive, and beneficial to the autistic adults we support.
During this reporting period, two directors received wages for their work delivering and managing the company’s activities. Payments were made for legitimate services carried out in support of the company’s community objectives, including planning, administration, group delivery, and operational management. Both directors were also reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred while carrying out their duties, such as travel and materials. No dividends were issued, and all remuneration and expenses were appropriate, proportionate, and consistent with the company’s community interest purpose.
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
