The Arizon Network supported young professionals, entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners across Greater Manchester. Our activities focused on reducing the trial and error people experience when developing careers or starting businesses by improving access to practical knowledge, experienced professionals, entrepreneurs and useful networks. Through networking events, career panels and business workshops, participants gained practical insight into career progression, entrepreneurship, business planning, branding, marketing and customer acquisition. These activities also created opportunities for attendees to build professional relationships, identify collaborations and connect with potential customers, mentors and advisers. The Network strengthened links between education, employment and entrepreneurship through partnerships with universities, professional communities and business owners. Overall, our activities helped participants improve their knowledge, confidence, professional networks and access to opportunities, while building a supportive community where experience, knowledge and connections could be shared to support career, business and economic progression
The Arizon Network CIC has consulted with its key stakeholders, including young professionals, aspiring entrepreneurs, business owners, members of the African community in Greater Manchester, volunteers, partner organisations and university communities. Consultation has taken place through focus groups, networking events, workshops, informal discussions and direct feedback from participants. During the year, four focus groups were held, with an average of around eight participants per session, to better understand the challenges, interests and support needs of the community. Feedback highlighted a need for more practical support around career development, entrepreneurship, access to experienced professionals and opportunities to build meaningful networks. In response, The Arizon Network developed and delivered activities including business startup workshops, career-focused discussions, networking events and opportunities for members to connect with experienced professionals and entrepreneurs. Feedback has also helped shape the organisation’s wider strategy, ensuring future programmes are more closely aligned with the needs and priorities identified by the community.
