Year Ending: 31 January 2026

Company activities and impact

Jess’s Horse Haven Community Interest Company provides an inclusive riding school and animal interaction service in Pembrokeshire. The CIC was established to provide accessible opportunities for children, young people and adults within the local community, with particular emphasis on supporting people with additional learning needs, disabilities and those who may benefit from a quieter and more supportive environment. During the financial year, the company provided riding sessions and opportunities to interact with and care for horses and other farm animals. Sessions were designed to help participants develop confidence, communication, independence and practical skills while benefiting from outdoor activity and interaction with animals. The company has worked to make activities accessible to individuals who may find traditional riding-school or group environments difficult. Sessions can be adapted to individual needs and delivered in a supportive environment. The CIC has also continued to develop its facilities and range of animals and equipment so that more members of the local community can benefit from inclusive riding, animal interaction and farm-based activities.

Consultation with stakeholders

We regularly consulted with the children, young people and adults who use our services, as well as their parents and carers. Feedback was gathered through informal conversations before and after sessions and through ongoing communication with families. This feedback helped us understand individual needs and make adjustments to riding and animal interaction sessions where required. We have used feedback to adapt activities, levels of support and the way sessions are delivered, particularly for people with additional learning needs or disabilities. We also consulted with staff and volunteers regarding the running of the service, animal care, safety and ways in which the facilities and activities could be improved.
