COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

UKEMPOWERMENTPEOPLE C.I.C.

Company Number: 16164961 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 January 2026

Company activities and impact

During its first financial year, UKEMPOWERMENTPEOPLE C.I.C. focused on establishing the organisation and developing the Empowering Young Southwark programme. The programme was designed to improve young people’s access to employability support, skills development, confidence-building activities and progression opportunities. The company developed its website, email service and visual identity, produced promotional materials and began raising awareness of the support that would become available. This created an accessible route through which young people, families and local organisations could learn about the programme and make future referrals. As this was the company’s initial development period, the community benefit primarily consisted of building the infrastructure, partnerships and public awareness needed to deliver effective support in Southwark. The company generated no income during the period and was funded through loans provided by the director and a related company. All expenditure was directed towards establishing and promoting the CIC’s community purpose.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company’s stakeholders include young people in Southwark, their families, community organisations, schools, employability services and potential referral partners. Stakeholders were consulted through informal conversations with young people and local community professionals about the barriers young people face when accessing employment, training and personal development opportunities. Feedback highlighted the need for practical, approachable support, clear information and straightforward referral routes. In response, the company developed the Empowering Young Southwark programme and created promotional materials, a website and a dedicated email service to make the planned support easier to understand and access. The company also planned to introduce more structured participant feedback during programme delivery.
