Notes to the Abridged Financial Statements |
|
Period from 30 December 2024 to 28 December 2025
1.
General information
The company is a private company limited by shares, registered in England and Wales. The address of the registered office is QFM House, 10 Brightside Lane, Sheffield, S9 3YE.
2.
Statement of compliance
These abridged financial statements have been prepared in compliance with Section 1A of FRS 102, 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and the Republic of Ireland'.
3.
Accounting policies
Basis of preparation
The abridged financial statements have been prepared on the historical cost basis. The abridged financial statements are prepared in sterling, which is the functional currency of the entity. Change of reporting period The financial statements cover the period from 30 December 2024 to 28 December 2025, however, in order to maintain alignment with the wider group, which changed reporting dates to align with the brands, the prior financial period covered an extended 15-month period from 1 October 2023 to 29 December 2024. Due to this, the figures within the financial statements for the period ended 28 December 2025 are not entirely comparable with the prior financial year to 29 December 2024. Accounting reference date The company year end is 31 December 2025 (2024: 31 December 2024), however it has taken advantage of the provisions in section 390 of the Companies Act 2006 which allow the company to make accounts up to a date within seven days of the accounting reference date. The company operates its management reporting in four weekly periods and consequently these financial statements are made up to the 28 December 2025 (2024: 29 December 2024).
Going concern
The company has net liabilities at the balance sheet date. There is no current trade within the company, however the financial statements have not been adjusted to reflect a non-going concern status as no alterations would be required as a result. The directors and parent company continue to support the company as necessary.
Income tax
Current tax represents the amount of tax payable or receivable in respect of the taxable profit (or loss) for the current or past reporting periods. It is measured at the amount expected to be paid or recovered using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the balance sheet date. Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date where transactions or events have occurred at that date that will result in an obligation to pay more, or a right to pay less or to receive more tax. Deferred tax is measured on an undiscounted basis at the tax rates that are expected to apply in the periods in which timing differences reverse, based on tax rates and laws enacted or substantively enacted at the balance sheet date.
Investments
Fixed asset investments are initially recorded at cost, and subsequently stated at cost less any accumulated impairment losses.
Impairment of fixed assets
A review for indicators of impairment is carried out at each reporting date, with the recoverable amount being estimated where such indicators exist. Where the carrying value exceeds the recoverable amount, the asset is impaired accordingly. Prior impairments are also reviewed for possible reversal at each reporting date. For the purposes of impairment testing, when it is not possible to estimate the recoverable amount of an individual asset, an estimate is made of the recoverable amount of the cash-generating unit to which the asset belongs. The cash-generating unit is the smallest identifiable group of assets that includes the asset and generates cash inflows that largely independent of the cash inflows from other assets or groups of assets. For impairment testing of goodwill, the goodwill acquired in a business combination is, from the acquisition date, allocated to each of the cash-generating units that are expected to benefit from the synergies of the combination, irrespective of whether other assets or liabilities of the company are assigned to those units.
Financial instruments
Debtors and creditors with no stated interest rate, and repayable within one year are recorded at transaction price. Any losses arising from impairment are recognised in the income statement in other administrative expenses.
4.

The average number of employees during the year was NIL (2023: NIL)
