| 1. | STATUTORY INFORMATION |
Red Clam Limited is a
| 2. | STATEMENT OF COMPLIANCE |
| 3. | ACCOUNTING POLICIES |
Basis of preparing the financial statements
Unless indicated otherwise in the accounting policies below, the financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention.
Turnover
Turnover represents the invoiced amount of fees and commission earned (stated net of Value Added Tax) during the year. Commission turnover is due when the landlord's rent is received from the tenant and is accounted for on that basis. Disbursements are recoverable as the expenditure is incurred.
Goodwill
Goodwill, being the amount paid in connection with the acquisition of a business in 2021, is being amortised evenly over its estimated useful life of 5 years.
Intangible assets
Intangible assets are initially measured at cost. After initial recognition, intangible assets are measured at cost less any accumulated amortisation and any accumulated impairment losses.
Tangible fixed assets
Tangible assets are stated at cost less accumulated depreciation. Cost includes the original purchase price and costs directly attributable to bringing the asset to its working condition for its intended use.
Depreciation is provided at the following annual rates in order to write off each asset over its estimated useful life.
Plant and machinery - 33% on cost
On disposal the difference between net proceeds and the carrying amount of the item sold is recognised in the profit and loss account and is included in administrative expenses.
Financial instruments
Financial instruments are classified as basic or non-basic in accordance with FRS 102 Section 11. Basic financial instruments are initially recognised at transaction price and subsequently measured at amortised cost using the effective interest method.
At each reporting date, financial assets measured at amortised cost are assessed for objective evidence of impairment. Where there is objective evidence that amounts due are not fully recoverable, an impairment loss is recognised in the profit and loss account. Impairment provisions are reviewed at each reporting date and adjusted to reflect changes in expected recoverability.
The company does not hold any non-basic financial instruments.

Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date where transactions or events that result in an obligation to pay more tax in the future or a right to pay less tax in the future have occurred at the balance sheet date. Timing differences are differences between the company's taxable profits and its results as stated in the financial statements.
Deferred tax is measured at the average tax rates that are expected to apply in the periods in which timing differences are expected to reverse, based on tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantially enacted by the balance sheet date. Deferred tax is measured on a non-discounted basis.
Pension costs
