During the financial year, The Lookout (Carlisle West) Community Hub CIC continued to provide a welcoming and accessible community space for residents in Carlisle West, particularly supporting individuals and families who may be experiencing social isolation, financial hardship or other challenges. The company provided a range of community-based activities and support, including children’s and family activities, after-school provision, holiday activities through the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme, community events, food support and opportunities for local people to access practical help and information. The community hub also provided a safe and welcoming place for people to meet, build relationships and take part in activities, helping to reduce social isolation and improve wellbeing. Activities for children and families gave young people opportunities to socialise, take part in positive activities and access support during school holidays and outside school hours. The company worked alongside local organisations, the local authority and other community groups to help residents access appropriate services and support where needed. Income received through grants, room hire and other activities was used to support the running of the community hub and the delivery of services and activities for the benefit of the local community. Any surplus generated by the company was retained and used in accordance with the company’s community purpose
