  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, net of discounts and value added taxes. Turnover includes revenue earned from the sale of goods and from the rendering of services. Turnover is reduced for estimated customer returns, rebates and other similar allowances. Turnover from the sale of goods is recognised when the significant risks and rewards of ownership of the goods has transferred to the buyer. This is usually at the point that the customer has signed for the delivery of the goods. Turnover from the rendering of services is recognised by reference to the stage of completion of the contract. The stage of completion of a contract is measured by comparing the costs incurred for work performed to date to the total estimated contract costs. Turnover is only recognised to the extent of recoverable expenses when the outcome of a contract cannot be estimated reliably

Company activities and impact

The Daffodil Project CIC is a therapeutic, nature-based alternative provision based in Rainham, Kent. They support children who may be finding traditional educational settings overwhelming, offering them a different way to learn, develop, and thrive. Designed specifically for children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), anxiety, EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance), SEMH (Social Emotional & Mental Health), PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance), sensory needs, or communication differences, The Daffodil Project offers a slower, calmer, more responsive environment where children feel safe, understood, and valued. They offer farm animal boarding and care, child -day care activities and physical well being activities. Their small-group sessions allow them to tailor activities to each child's needs and interests. Whether it's feeding the goats and chickens, petting our smaller animals, planting, cooking, baking, creative crafts, or exploring sensory play indoors and outdoors, every part of the day is designed to build confidence, skills, language, independence and joy. They also work closely with families and schools on meaningful, individualised targets, whether that's around communication, independence, social interaction or regulation. With on-site speech and language sessions available, they are able to gently support children's communication and expression within natural, engaging contexts where language flows more freely.
