Six Towns Sport & Community C.I.C was formed officially in January 2025 but did not start running sports sessions until April 2025. This C.I.C was formed to create sport and fitness opportunities in deprived communities in Stoke on Trent, by hosting community sports sessions and holiday club care for children aged between 5-12. Due to the Directors and PSC’s connections with a community and school facility, Blurton was the main base for the first year, hosting most of our sessions from Sutherland Primary, the school in the heart of Blurton. Having a familiar location in the middle of the community has been easily accessible, especially to those families who do not drive or have other transport barriers. From April until October, weekend football sessions were hosted, with mixed gender on Saturdays and Girls on sessions on Sundays. Within those months we had 102 children taking part, averaging around 30 children attending Saturdays and 20 on Sundays each week. Following on from the successful football sessions, we were able to create 4 football teams to compete in local Staffordshire league, providing opportunity to 41 players in total, with 37 of them being their first time being part of an official team. During school half terms, we provided our own holiday club care and worked alongside the HUBB Foundation which is a charity based company that works with other sports companies and clubs. For our own holiday clubs, which are multi-sport based, we gave holiday care to 88 children in total across the course of all the half terms (April, May, August), providing safe and affordable care at a much lower cost, suited for the families of this community. Direct links with sports clubs & trainers from the local area were made, widening opportunity and knowledge of other activities and environments close to the Blurton area. We had trainers from Hem Heath Cricket club, Tweedale Dance Academy, Florence Tennis Club, 1K fitness, Port Vale Football Club and a goalkeeper coach & scout from UK football trials all coming along to these holiday clubs providing specialist coaching to the children. During the August half term, a Cricket Specific holiday club at Longton Cricket Club was held on 4 occasions, averaging 15 children each time that attended. Following these holiday sessions, 5 of these children have gone on to join one of Longtons Cricket teams. Working alongside the HUBB Foundation, our coaches lead sports activities at their holiday club sessions for 3 hours a day. This work was funded by the HUBB Foundation. From when the company first started, we had 3 coaches available to lead sessions. Building on this, we have given the opportunity 16 different coaches paid work and 5 volunteers that assist with specific sessions.
No consultation with stakeholders
Our Directors in the first financial year were paid a basic salary for the work & sessions they completed. This total for both directors included was £3343.
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
