Mums the Word CIC continued to provide accessible, inclusive support and activities for families within Clackmannanshire and the wider Forth Valley area. During the year we developed our services in response to the needs identified by local families, with a focus on reducing isolation, improving wellbeing and creating opportunities for families to build supportive community connections. Activities included parent and family support, stay and play sessions, Bookbug, messy play, baby and early years activities, youth activities, seasonal community events and inclusive activities for families who may experience additional barriers to accessing mainstream community provision. We have continued to develop a welcoming, non-judgemental environment where families can access support without requiring a diagnosis or formal referral. We also provide meaningful volunteering opportunities, helping individuals build confidence, skills, experience and a sense of belonging. During the year, Mums the Word CIC developed its community hub, allowing us to increase the range and accessibility of our activities and create a consistent community space for families. Our activities have helped reduce social isolation, strengthen informal support networks and provide affordable opportunities for children, parents and carers to participate in their local community.
Our main stakeholders are the children, parents, carers and families who use our services, our volunteers, staff, partner organisations and the wider local community. We regularly consult with families through informal conversations, feedback forms, social media, our community groups and direct feedback during activities and drop-in sessions. We use this feedback to identify gaps, adapt existing activities and develop new services. Feedback from families has directly influenced our programme, including requests for smaller and more inclusive sessions, activities for different age groups, affordable family activities and opportunities for parents and carers to access support and build connections. We continue to review our activities in response to community need rather than delivering a fixed programme.
