The Company is eligible to claim a tax credit on production costs, the tax credit comprises relief based on the total net costs and an additional deduction for enhanceable expenditure. The Company claims a payment based on the amount of enhanced expenditure and carries losses arising from the total net costs forward against future profits.

Stocks

Stocks comprise theatre production costs which are recorded as a current asset. Theatre production costs are amortised to the Statement of Income and Retained Earnings over the period in which the rights to the relevant are exploited subject to any impairment.

Cash and cash equivalents

Cash and cash equivalents are basic financial assets and include cash in hand, deposits held at call with banks, other short-term liquid investments with original maturities of three months or less, and bank overdrafts. Bank overdrafts are shown within borrowings in current liabilities.
