COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

WHERE WE START CIC

Company Number: 16255146 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 28 February 2026

Company activities and impact

We are community interest company in Waltham Forest who support children and families struggling to access mental health support. This year we were still planning. We chose not to design services first and look for people to fit them. We wanted to reach out to the community and design bespoke services based on need. Most of our work this year has been listening and then shaping a plan around what we heard. What we did: Asked local parents, carers and families what they need when it comes to mental health support, through a survey and through conversations. Wrote a founding statement of principles, so the people we work with can see what we stand for and hold us to it. Committed to offering everything on a pay-what-you-can basis, so that cost is not what keeps a family out. Trialled a community parenting group at The Mill in Walthamstow. Looked for a therapeutic space for one to one and small group work with children and families, and ran a Crowdfunder towards the deposit, equipment and furniture. Built a website and a social media presence in plain, non-clinical language, so people can find us and know what to expect. Started to build connections and relationships with other like minded CIC's and charities in the community. How the community benefited: The benefit this year is modest. We have not yet delivered support at scale. What local families have gained so far is being asked and being heard, and a project that is taking the shape they described and not one decided for them. The people who took part have had a direct hand in what we offer, where, and at what cost.
